From the 10th tee, a left-leaning dog-leg hides a large green perched on a rising fairway. The farther left you hit your drive, the shorter the distance to the green. But that tactic invites danger from the solid rampart of conifers on your left. The safest drive is to the right side of the fairway with its slight left-to-right roll, where there will be a better angle for your second shot.
Your second is crucial though, because of steep cliffside bunkers and dropoffs to the right of the fairway. These hazards continue right up to the green. On this tournament par 4 and members' par 5, the approach to the green is fairly steep, so it's advisable to hit one or two more clubs on the last 200 yards of this hole.
Once again, this 10th green fits the Capilano pattern. Fast, hilly and dangerous. Beware.
