The 16th hole is pure poetry. Evening sun pours through the boughs of towering cedars. Tall grasses above the shaded green sway in soft summer winds. The clubhouse sits high on the ridge while the setting sun bathes members in golden rays as they reflect on their round over a cold glass of ale. This is the Capilano we cherish. This is golf at its best.

The 16th is a friendly par 3 (ladies par 4) and it plays just as you see it. Depending on your skill level, a driver, fairway wood or long iron is usually the club of choice. Most of the trouble off the tee occurs on the right side of the fairway, where a lateral water hazard is found. But there are also a couple of mean little bunkers to the left of the green. So choose your favourite club, swing smoothly, and you'll be putting for par in no time.

The 16th is a relatively easy green to putt, except when the flag is positioned on the right side. Pay close attention to the speed of these putts. Now, didn't we tell you that this hole was pure poetry?
