The icing on the cake. The pièce de résistance. The Big Kahuna. Superlatives such as these come to mind as Capilano's 6th tee reveals one of the most spectacular golf views in North America. Downtown Vancouver forms a shimmering backdrop to this verdant canvas, glowing quietly at the end of the emerald carpet of green we call the 6th hole.

So enjoy the moment, because over the years this downhill par 4 has proven statistically to be one of Capilano's most difficult holes.

With a driver in your hands, this narrow fairway will force you to tighten up your golf swing, causing frequent errant tee shots. Consider using a long iron or fairway wood for positioning off the tee. Usually the right side of the fairway will give you a better angle for your approach. As you walk downhill towards your second shot, the city panorama will slowly disappear from view, allowing you to renew your concentration. A word of caution, though. The greenside bunkers attract your balls like magnets. The goal is to get on in regulation and let your putter do the talking.
