Imagine! Two holes in a row with treacherous bunkers. Course designer Stanley Thompson must have had a devious plan to punish the golfers of Capilano, because these traps have voracious appetites. It's no wonder the club aptly named this hole 'Bunker Hill'.

Aside from being an extremely difficult par 3, the 9th hole is visually stunning and a real treat to play.

The drastic 42-foot elevation change from tee to green makes club selection very important. Being aware of exact yardages from continually changing pin placements will make club selection easier. Play one or two clubs more than you would normally hit, and of course, look out for those ball-eating monsters. (How can you miss them?) Of all the par 3s at Capilano, the 9th is the one that earns the greatest respect. Partly for its toughness, and partly due to the extreme cardiac workout you get from the grinding uphill trek to the pin.
