Clubhouse Job Openings:

Capilano Golf & Country Club, a private facility located in West Vancouver, is seeking an Assistant Building Superintendent to join the Clubhouse maintenance team. This position reports to the Building Maintenance Superintendent.
The opening is related to a succession planning process. The Club is willing to invest in the education and professional development of the ideal candidate.
The role is responsible for the basic maintenance of the Clubhouse building, attending to virtually all parts of the building, including flooring, ceiling, walls, HVAC systems, plumbing and electrical wiring.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance, ideally in large and operationally diverse facilities. Previous work experience in a hotel or club is an asset.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responding to various building maintenance requests
  • Minor repairs: plumbing, electrical, painting
  • Small building and renovation projects, cabinetry
  • Purchasing supplies
  • Dealing with subcontractors
  • Scheduling major repairs with outside contractors
  • Managing outside contractors for regular inspections and specialized maintenance
  • Making recommendations and requests for new maintenance products and equipment as necessary
  • Training new maintenance staff when necessary
Qualifications and Skills Requirements
  • Carpentry experience
  • Plumbing and electrical experience
  • Ability to perform physical labor
  • Ability to lift and carry up to hundred pounds

Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual Salary: $65,000 to $70,000 per year depending on experience.

Capilano Golf & Country Club, a private facility in West Vancouver, is seeking a Night Cleaner, to join the team of Clubhouse maintenance team. This position reports to the Facilities Manager. The role focuses strongly on the service to a consistent clientele which is the membership.
Night Cleaners are responsible for basic cleaning of the Clubhouse building and on-course washrooms and deep cleaning of kitchen equipment. The ideal candidate will display exceptional attention to detail and an ability work independently.
Responsibilities:
  • Carpet vacuuming
  • Dusting and baseboard cleaning
  • Hardwood floor mopping
  • Kitchen tile floor mopping
  • Garbage and laundry (hand towel) collection
  • Washroom fixture cleaning
  • Washroom supply replenishment
  • Transporting cleaning supplies using club van (for on-course washroom cleaning)
  • Deep cleaning kitchen equipment, as required
Requirements
  • Previous janitorial experience
  • Comfortable working alone all night
  • Physical fitness and strength – ability to bend, twist and lift up to 50lbs regularly
  • Valid driver’s license

Unique Job Aspects

Responsible for Locker Room operations, including:
  • Coordinating guest lockers.
  • Managing the locker key system.
  • Communicating locker requests to Administration.
  • Identifying maintenance requirements.
  • Cleaning and tidying sink areas, shower stalls, and other wet areas.
  • Carpet vacuuming.
  • Toiletry supply replenishing.
  • Drinking water replenishing.
Responsible for Card Room operations.
  • Cleaning and tidying.
  • Replenishing snacks.
  • Taking food and drink orders.
  • Delivering food and drink orders, clearing tables.
Responsible for Women's Staff Locker Room, Staff Lunch Room and Staff Patio
  • Cleaning and tidying.
Transportation
  • Public transit to our location is difficult - employees need ample time or their own vehicle.
Shifts

Shifts are 8.5 hours including a 00.5-hour unpaid meal break plus paid breaks mid-shift.  Start times vary depending on the time of year and the day of wthe week. Shifts available as of 11-Apr-2022 are:
  • Friday and Saturday - Day Shift
Wages 

The wage rate is from $18.70 to $23.40 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
